Wenlan School of Business is named after the founding president Fan Wenlan with the aim of training top-notch innovative talents and exploring new model from education system relying on the University’s three preponderant disciplines of Economics, Management and Law, is founded in 2012. Adhering to the university motto “Learned, Rational, Virtuous, and Devoted”, Wenlan School focuses on students, puts moral education as the priority and attaches great importance to students’ capabilities. Based on new modes for running college and training program, teachers with high qualification home and abroad are hired and elite education is carried out so as to consolidate the platform of cultivating innovative talents in human and social science.
Personnel training system combining science with education“ famous teachers plus tutors all the way” is adopted. Teachers with profound academic attainments, deep sense of responsibility as well as advanced concept of cultivating talents are selected. Through paired selection, the tutor group consists of famous teachers from college and school provide the comprehensive guidance so as to enhance capabilities of learning. The combination of teaching and scientific research creates opportunities for students to do the scientific research with tutors, cultivates students’ interests and capabilities of innovation and provides a platform for gaining a deeper sense of the frontier of the academic study. Excellent research-oriented students will be recommended to world-class universities for further study.
The teaching and management model “professors governance + tutors all the way+ students self-learning”is adopted. The School has set up “Professor Committee” to guide and supervise the teaching and leaning quality as well as personnel training. Academic advisor strengthens the reform in teaching and Education Steering Committee participates the governance and self-management in an active manner. Three organizations complement each other and make the mutual improvement.
The School focuses on three majors: Economics, Finance and Business Management and adopted the personnel training model of “braod teaching and inclusive educating”. Freshman and sophomore would focus their study in primary knowledge, in the junior year, students have the choice to select majors according to their preference. As the pilot school of cultivating top-notch students, the academic capabilities of students have been greatly developed and enhanced. Employment rate for the first 2016 graduates is 98.18%, among whom 9 went abroad for further study, accounting for 22.5% while the employment rate for 2017 graduates is 100%, among whom 33 went abroad for further study, accounting for 56.9%.
In 2015, the school has hired a patch of many excellent PhDs in economics and experts which further optimizes the quality of professional teachers, enhances the level of scientific study and improves the scope of influence. We are making steady effort to become the world-class internationalized school of business. At present, we have 16 full-time teachers, 67 part-time teachers, among whom 76 enjoy advanced title, one scientific research institution-- Chinese financial research and investigation center. Within one and half a year, teachers have published and recruited 38 academic papers including two papers in top journal Economic Research and one paper in Management World, 28 SSCI and won three research projects at provincial level, among which one is the national natural science project.
China Research and Survey Center for Finance and Economics, CCFE has been published aiming at establishing the top research platform in the field of finance. As the carrier of academic research and finance intelligence, a team of excellent scholars and experts gather to provide guidance for students to participate in researches and practices on  “China Center for Financial Research and Investigation” so as to cultivate students to be the top-notch in the financial sector.
